At SandLegs, we develop beach volleyball players, build champions, and above all else, cultivate a community of courageous women.
This is about more than just Beach Volleyball For us. Coaching is not just something fun to do on a free Saturday; it is our calling.
As the only female owned and opperated beach volleyball club in Northern California, our staff is equipped to help young female athletes reach their highest potential.
Our coaches and players have arrived at where they are as a result of strong work ethic, personal accountability, and a drive for excellence.
If you have serious aspirations, dreams and goals for yourself in beach volleyball, SandLegs is the right program for you. If you want to learn both the physical skill sets and special intangible mental qualities that good coaches look for, SandLegs can help equip you. If you like being held to a high standard, are searching for accountability, and are pursuing excellence, our culture is the right fit for you.
One of the best ways to achieve maximum performance is to surround yourself with people that push you, grow you, and help hold you accountable to what you want to accomplish. A recent study shows that only 4% of Fortune 500 company CEOs are women. Out of those few, 96% of them are former athletes. At SandLegs we offer a coaching system that will help you develop as a player and a person. SandLegs culture helps foster an environment of breakthroughs, accountability, and a constant search for excellence.
The SandLegs Difference
From providing role models to building accountability, SandLegs is unlike any other.
Coaches, Mentors, Role Models
At SandLegs, we pride ourselves in providing role models for our young girls to aspire to; women who have achieved excellence both in sport and in life. It is important that our coaching demographics reflect that of our players.
With multiple AVP female coaches/pros, 3 D1 womens Beach Volleyball coaches and over 10 current and former D1 players among our staff, it is clear that the SandLegs family is dedicated to the womens beach volleyball game. No other club in Northern California can even come close to competing with the both the level and amount of coaching experience our staff maintains. Furthermore, most of our coaches are full-time and have many years of experience coaching beach volleyball in both training and competition format.
At SandLegs we believe in a low coach to player ratio in both training and especially competition.Unlike any other club in California, a player can expect to have a coach at their court for the majority of their matches.
Our coaches are also the most educated. They hold and/or are pursuing bachelors and masters degrees in the areas of Education, Sociology, and Kinesiology, They also hold USA Beach Volleyball BCAPP 1 and 2 certifications.
Our Coaches work hard to maintain a growth mindset and are constantly learning and engaging themselves in the arena of athletics, sports psychology, and leadership through workshops, books, and podcasts.
A Culture of Excellence
This is about more than just Beach Volleyball For us. Coaching is not just something fun to do on a free Saturday; it is our calling. We are not your typical laid-back beach volleyball people. Our coaches and players are successful as a result of strong work ethic, personal accountability, and a desire for excellence.

It takes a village.
Though Beach volleyball has traditionally been a 2 player sport, most players become successful in part by the support of their community. SandLegs is dedicated to fostering a Juniors Beach doubles community in which players challenge one another in practice to improve. Players will help each other at competitions through encouragement and sharing of knowledge. When one of our pairs wins, the whole club wins!
We know the womens game
Just like in other sports like tennis and basketball, the game is different across genders. In beach volleyball, the net is lower, the rallies are longer, and serves/shots come at a faster trajectory. This makes for a very different system of both technical and tactical proficiency. Our coaches are experts in these systems as both players and coaches in the womens game.
"If a player sees someone she wants to become, the utmost motivational energy is ignited."
At SandLegs, not only do we have the best coaches, but we also recognize that there are many other components involved in the learning process and we strive to provide all of those components to our players. We are a family here at SandLegs and that means that not only do our players have role models that they can aspire to, but also that our older players are put into situations where they can help teach and ignite the motivational energy of the next generation, furthering their own learning in the process.
You haven't truly learned a skill until you have used it in competition.
At SandLegs tournament coaching is something we pride ourselves in. Competition is a time of many lessons. However, young minds are not always attuned to those lessons without guidance from a coach. We strive to ensure coaches are there to guide our athletes at these most opportune times.
Team culture and partnerships.
Finding beach partners can be a difficult process. Physicality, playing style, personality, and vacation schedules can make it virtually impossible. At SandLegs, we have years of experience in partner selection at NCAA, club, and national levels. In joining the club, a player gains access to a community of players that will all train in the same technical. tactical, and communication system along with very experienced coaches to guide her along the way.Though we encourage our players to seek out their own partners for tournaments, we do give recommendations and help with the organizational process. Our coaches also help to manage the relationships in both practice and competition setting, ensuring that communication remains fluid and the experience is positive between the pair.
